D.BAIL/IT TAKES A VILLAGE...

“Hello people, we are 4 months into 2010 and the year has been moving fast. I want to publicly thank all the visitors to my site as of late, I humbly appreciate your support. I am happy to still continue my commitment with the young people working for a great non-for profit agency here in New Jersey. To my youth PLEASE don’t shortchange yourself when it comes to education or let people dictate who you are and who you will become. Don’t give people the POWER to make you feel inferior or make a mistake in anger that could affect the rest of your life. Today is today. Although it may be rough RIGHT NOW, remember there is a season for everything. So although this week may be one of the worst you ever had with no goodness in sight just remember THAT TOO SHALL PAST. We may have to take a rough ride to reach our destination but as long as we reach it—it's all good. The roughness we experience on the way will just help us appreciate it more and help the next person get through their bumps and bruises. Not to judge anyone specifically but it seems we have become a very selfish society over the years. If it’s not about us we don’t care. THIS will be the downfall of us because it truly does “take a village to raise a child” Phrases like “do unto others as you want done unto you” could never be outdated or irrelevant. When I say US I mean the human race, not just black, brown & white. WE ALL must help one another or we will destroy each other. As an individual you may not have any control over others, but what can YOU or I do to make the world a better place? This is something I have dedicated my life to, and will continue working on as long as I live. May God bless and keep anyone who reads these words today” – D.BAIL

D.BAIL/DZ

"Whats up people? I am happy to see the traffic picking up a bit more on my little blog, I need to start posting more and I promise to do that. Thanks to everyone who took time out their day to check me out. The industry is a crazy place sometimes. I just finished teaching the summer session for the Pre College Program with my Media Arts Class and I told them this business is not always what it is cracked up to be. I have come across the good and sometimes the bad when dealing with certain individuals. Don't let the bright lights, jewelery, money and fast cars distract you from what your mission is. This brother I'm introducing is a testament to that. He goes by the name DZ "Divine Zeal" and we have been friends for over 10 years. His new mixtape "Spirtual Warfare Chapter 1" is available for free download on his website JESUSPEACEMUSIC.COM and is hosted by yours truly D.BAIL! DZ is anointed by God and has a message for all of us struggling with our day to day problems. Trust me you have never heard anything like this. Some of the music we hear today promotes the same negative things day in and day out and as an adult, I don't get influenced by that at all. But what about our youth? How many positive influences are they subjected to in the entertainment biz? Not trying to be too preachy but being that I work in both fields, education & entertainment I have to acknowledge both and also create ways to make it better. So I present to you DZ! As in addition to being an emcee, DZ and his older brother run an outreach program called Jesus Peace Outreach. They hit the streets of Plainfield, Newark, Patterson and Irvington to organize and sponsor Basketball Tournaments and many other projects that help keep the kids off the streets. Most often kids get into trouble because of the lack of activities and resources in their neighborhood. This is so important because this generation will be taking care of us when we are old and grey! We must do our part and water the seeds so they can grow! Well I hope you enjoy the music and get involved and volunteer some time for our young people. I will holla at yall soon!" - D.BAIL

D.BAIL/PLATANOS & COLLARD GREENS

"If you haven't seen this play you should definitely check it out. It's the talk of the city in NY. 'Can love between Blacks & Dominicans Survive?' They have one of the most talented cast and crew I've ever seen. The storyline entertains and enlightens its audience as well.
In March of 2008, Aderia L. Johnson and Tower Yearbook at New Jersey City University booked Platanos & Collard Greens to perform at the Margaret Williams Theatre on campus. I hosted the show, BET's own DJ Nix in the Mix was doing his thing on the 1's & 2's along with the very talented emcee & singer La Femme Nikita. 107.5 WBLS Street Team came through to promote and show love to the nearly sold out audience. Sparxx Clothing Company CEO Lisa made sure La Femme Nikita and I were fresh in our original outfits to hold it down. " - D.BAIL

D.BAIL/PRE-COLLEGE PROGRAM

"One of the things that I do outside of the industry that I'm most proud of is my work with the young people. I am a Media Arts Instructor for a program called Upward Bound at NJCU. It's a weekend program that helps middle school/high school get prepared for college. The program gives classes on Saturday, extra tutoring, it pays for their SAT test and college applications. I work with the students who are trying to work in the entertainment field. I teach four aspects of Media including Film, Radio, TV & Audio. We shoot a documentary/movie once a semester that the students write and produce themselves. I encourage their creativity, and allow them to stand out and be leaders. The class also works on their self-esteem and helping them become better communicators in general. This is the best aspect of my career, the chance to give back. There are so many kids who don't have an outlet in the streets. I want them to feel as whatever they want to do in life as long as they have education and work hard they can achieve it." - D.BAIL

D.BAIL/SOHH.COM

"I began interning at SOHH.com in 2001 which was a crazy year. I was still in college making the proper adjustments to school full time, working part time and keeping a internship. I remember being at the old office downtown Jersey City on 9/11 watching the second plane hit those buildings. The next day I started working for Americorps National Service and went straight to NYC helping out. SOHH gave me the opportunity to humble myself, work hard, soak up information about the industry and not complain. SOHH.com is hands down one of the best websites out today and I seen them come up through dedication and sacrifice. It is definitely an inspiration for me and others starting out with their own company. The Co-Owner was someone I had looked up to for years and he taught me to do the little things well and when bigger opportunties came I would be able to handle it. A lot of people want to work in the business but don't like to put any work in. I interned a total of 5 years with various companies because you have to pay dues..." - D.BAIL

D.BAIL/YOUR MEDIA ARTS SPECIALIST

"I just wanted to follow my dreams and I did. A few great people helped me along the way to make sure I had a chance. All the goals I set as a kid God made possible, now I have to give back to all of those who dream too."

D. Bail has been an entertainer since his birth on March 22nd. Born in New York and later raised in Plainfield New Jersey, Doug has worked effortlessly since his young teens building a plan for his exciting future. His contagious personality, spontaneous wit and quick learning skills have allowed him opportunities many dream of. He has loved acting and performing since his early teens and at 17 did his first commercial for Burger King. He entered college shortly after and interned at many prestigious companies such as Elektra Records, Comcast Cable, SOHH.com, MTV Networks, Collegeclub.com and Walt Disney World as well. Doug graduated from New Jersey City University in May 2005 with a BA degree in Media Arts/Communications. He learned a lot about the business as well as production aspect of entertainment but longed to stay in front of the camera where he felt he had a gift.

A year before graduation in Doug's senior year at college, television producer Mike Sisti made Doug his new host of, "Where Ya At?" through Comcast Cable and it immediately became a prime time hit in New Jersey. With the viewer ship reaching 700,000 customers, the prime time video show was a forum for Mr. Bailey to interview stars like Slim Thug, B.G., Mannie Fresh, Joe, T-Pain, Mike Jones, Amerie, Bow Wow, Yung Joc, Tony Yayo of G-Unit and many more. That led to an opportunity to be apart of the 2005 Justo's Mixtape Awards at BB Kings in NYC where Doug conducted backstage interviews with all the performers and presenters which included Diddy, DJ Kay Slay,The Game, Common, Do or Die, Green Latern, Shyeim, The Legendary DJ Luv Bug Starski, Pitbull, Bishop Lamont, Purple City, DJ Vlad, DJ Finess, DJ Radio, DJ Ron C, DJ Kurupt, Tre Williams, Rich Boy, Consquence, DJ Big Kap, DJ Backside, The Original Spinderella, Papoose, Boot Camp Click, Saigon, Remy Ma, Chamillionare, Swizz Beats, E.Ness, J Love, Just Blaze, Tru-Life and countless others.

One year later Doug auditioned for a VJ job at Music Choice and along with Bre, a top contestant from America's Next Top Model, was chosen to co-host "Certified", a show where fans vote on their favorite music artists in a head to head competition. The show featured competitions such as Chris Brown vs. Neo, Janet Jackson vs. Beyonce, Keyshia Cole vs. Mary J. Blige & T.I. vs. Lil' Wayne to name a few. Within 6 months the show gathered over 2 million viewers. The show "Certified" won a Billboard DEMMX award in 2007 for Best New Interactive Show. With the cable TV On Demand feature, fans were able to be interactive with the show through Cingular text messages, online votes, one on one street interviews with D.Bail and even voting on their remote control.

Doug known as "D. Bail" on the award winning show continues to look for different opportunities to grow in the business. He has recently began hosting live events such as the hit off-broadway play Platanos and Collard Greens, various Poetry Slams, Artist Showcases, Fashion Shows & Birthday Parties. D.Bail was also the feature correspondent for Comcast/Cablevison & Verizon Fios new urban video show "What's Hot TV", which had a viewership of 2.8 million subscribers in New Jersey, Philadelphia & Delaware. The show gave D.Bail the opportunity to spotlight his upcoming events as well as promoting his forthcoming DVD "D.Bail Files Volume 1" which features some of his highlights in the entertainment business along with exclusive artist interviews.

Doug is currently working at 107.5 WBLS, the NYC flagship station for the Steve Harvey Morning Show & The Wendy Williams Experience, as well as inspirational Gospel station WLIB 1190 AM in their Promotions department. He is still focused on his goal to reach out, mentor and educate ALL youth, especially those in urban communities and help them follow their dreams as well. Very soon D.Bail will make his worldwide presence felt with a brand new venture continuing his legacy in the entertainment world.
